Ryan Michael McDonough

A Villager’s son has been put on probation after he was caught driving with marijuana in his car.

Ryan Michael McDonough, 35, who lives with his mother at 2102 Pink Blossom Ct. in the Hydrangea Villas in the Village of St. Charles, on June 4 had been at the wheel of a blue four-door Volvo with New York plates when he was pulled over in the area of Morse Boulevard and State Road 44 for a faulty taillight. A check revealed McDonough’s New York driver’s license had been suspended for failure to pay child support, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. His driver’s license also had been suspended in Florida for failure to appear in court.

The deputy detected the odor of marijuana and asked McDonough if he had been smoking the drug. McDonough said he had just dropped off a friend who left marijuana in the glovebox. Less than 20 grams of marijuana were found in the glovebox.

McDonough was arrested on charges of driving on a suspended license and possession of marijuana. Last month in Sumter County Court, he was placed on probation for one year after pleading no contest to both charges.
