Community Development District 4 Supervisor Don Deakin will discuss progress of emergency sinkhole work during two planned meetings in August.
Deakin, who also serves on the Amenity Authority Committee, will be hosting question-and-answer sessions from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5 and Thursday, Aug. 8 at Mulberry Grove Recreation Center.
The CDD 4 Board of Supervisors on May 20 unanimously voted to issue an emergency declaration so that a $1.4 million project could commence in the sinkhole-damaged neighborhood in the Village of Calumet Grove. That work is currently taking place.
“Based on recent emails and phone calls, there are two ‘hot topics’ that will be included in the August Q&A’s: Storm drain construction in Calumet Grove and the First Responders Recreation Center proposed ‘concept plan,’” Deakin said.
The purpose of the meetings is to provide residents with the opportunity to ask questions, get answers, share concerns, offer suggestions and address rumors, Deakin added.
