Villager strikes deal to get estranged girlfriend out of his mother’s house

Daniel Seropian

The estranged girlfriend of a man living in his mother’s house in The Villages has agreed to move out of the Village of Virginia Trace home they once shared.

Daniel Scott Seropian, 51, remains free on $1,500 bond following his April 26 arrest at the home of his 87-year-old mother at 853 Chappells Drive in the Stillwater Villas.

At the time of his arrest, Seropian had arrived home shortly before midnight and was greeted by his girlfriend who was “cutting him down as usual,” according to the arrest report. Seropian said she “wouldn’t stop yelling at him and he had enough,” the deputy wrote in the arrest report. Seropian told the woman four times to leave.

“That’s not how it works, you leave,” she said.

The woman said Seropian, who stands 6 feet tall and weighs 220 pounds, screamed threats to her face, picked her up by the shoulders and threw her up against the kitchen sink.

Seropian’s mother in 2009 purchased the villa where the altercation occurred. Seropian went to court trying to get his girlfriend out.

According to a joint stipulation on file in Sumter County Court, she has agreed to leave the home – with her belongings – by Aug. 15. Seropian has agreed to pay her $250 once she is gone, to assist her in moving to a new residence.

A judge has dismissed the girlfriend’s temporary injunction for protection against domestic violence.

Seropian has pleaded not guilty to a charge of battery.
