A longtime member of the Architectural Review Committee is resigning because he feels he can “no longer be effective.”
ARC member Joel Best, a resident of the Village of Ashland, has tendered his resignation to the Community Development District 5 Board of Supervisors.
“I am resigning for personal reasons and for the fact that I can longer be effective as the District 5 representative,” Best wrote in his letter.
He has served for six years as CDD 5’s ARC member.
He was contacted by Villages-News.com, but declined to elaborate on his resignation letter.
“No comment,” he said.
The all-volunteer ARC reviews on average 100 applications per week from Villagers who would like to make modifications to their property.
The CDD 5 Board of Supervisors will meet Friday morning and will consider elevating its ARC alternate, Diane Reichert, to the primary seat. She attends most ARC meetings and fills in for vacancies in other CDDs.
Best’s resignation comes at a time when two other ARC veterans have moved onto supervisor seats in their respective CDDs.
William Jenness was recently appointed to the CDD 1 Board and Cary Sternberg has been appointed to the CDD 4 Board.
