President Trump wowed a highly favorable Villages audience Thursday afternoon when he took the stage at the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center and promised to do whatever it takes to protect Medicare and overall healthcare for seniors.

President Trump promised to protect Medicare for seniors and signed an executive order designed to strengthen the program during a visit to The Villages on Thursday.

The president often referred to Democrats in Congress and those who hope to run against him in 2020 as “maniacs” who want to take away Medicare, and he promised to protect the program the vast majority of seniors rely on for medical care from socialist destruction. He also signed an executive order that strengthens Medicare with more benefits and solutions while reducing unnecessary regulations. And he said that doctors and nurses will be able to spend less time on paperwork and more time with their patients.

“As long as I’m president, no one will lay a hand on your Medicare benefits,” he said.

The president also encouraged seniors to enroll in Medicare Advantage plans, which are administered by private insurers and provide a variety of benefits to seniors – oftentimes with a zero-monthly premium – that go above and beyond regular fee-for-service Medicare and doesn’t involve the heavy costs associated with Supplemental plans.
