The Property Owners’ Association has canceled the paper shredding event scheduled for Saturday at the Lowe’s parking lot at Trailwinds Plaza on County Road 466A. POA President Cliff Wiener said he was erring on the side of caution and could not subject the dozens of volunteers to the potentially heavy storms. POA members with tickets should hold on to them for a rescheduled date that will be announced later.

Tropical Storm Nestor is predicted to make landfall this weekend in the Florida Panhandle and locally will be bringing wind and rain.
