K-9 alerts on Cadillac Escalade near Brownwood Paddock Square

A K-9 alerted on a Cadillac Escalade near Brownwood Paddock Square, leading to a drug arrest.

Joshua Alan Ryder, 30, of Wildwood, had been driving the silver Cadillac Escalade at 11:16 p.m. Sunday when he was pulled over at State Road 44 and Meggison Road, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. During the traffic stop, a K-9 alerted on the vehicle, signaling the likely presence of drugs.

Ryder admitted there was a “a small bag of weed” in the vehicle’s center console. A search turned up 8 grams of marijuana as well as 8 grams of THC oil. There were also a vaporizer pen and rolling papers in the vehicle.

Ryder was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug equipment. He was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
