The release of an accident report is shedding light on a van’s crash into a wall Monday morning in the Village of McClure.

The van, the property of Rail Crew Xpress transportation services of Lenexa, Kan., at 6:40 a.m. Monday was traveling 45 miles per hour at the roundabout at County Road 501 and Corbin Trail when the driver, 47-year-old Ding Zhiu of Orlando, “did not observe the roundabout,” according to the accident report from the Wildwood Police Department.

A mini-van crashed into a wall Monday morning in the Village of McClure.

The van left the roadway and struck a wall, prompting the vehicle’s airbags to deploy.

Zhiu escaped injury, but two passengers, 34-year-old Garrett Edward Rankin of Orlando and 44-year-old Jeremy Alphonso Jackson of Altamonte Springs, suffered minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

A property owner at 5823 Cipris Circle advised police he had damage to the inside wall. He said he would contact his insurer as well as contacting property management in The Villages.
