The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for a pair of vehicles involved in a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a passenger riding on a Villager’s motorcycle.
Villager Wendy Allyn Roberts, 60, had been riding a 1997 Honda VT600 at 12:15 a.m. Saturday traveling west on County Road 42 in the area of SE 102nd Court Road when the motorcycle was hit from behind, knocking Roberts and her passenger from the motorcycle, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Villager’s passenger, a 64-year-old Summerfield man who has not been identified pending notification of next of kin, landed in the eastbound lane where he was run over by another vehicle.
Both vehicles fled the scene.
Roberts suffered minor injuries. She was wearing a helmet but her passenger was not, the report indicated.
The FHP is looking for a silver 2001 to 2007 Toyota Sequoia with left front and front-end damage and also a 1998 to 2000 Toyota Corolla with possible left front and front damage. Anyone with information about the vehicles or drivers involved in this accident is asked to call (800) 387-1290 or Marion County Crime Stoppers.
