Two Wildwood Police Department officers are being lauded for helping out a young child in need.
On Tuesday morning as temperatures dipped into the low 40s, officers Andrew Wellman and Rashid Bankasingh saw a young child walking to Wildwood Elementary wearing only a shirt and shorts. They turned around to give him a ride but by then he had been picked up by a school bus.
The two officers then drove to the nearby Dollar General store, purchased a coat for the student and delivered it to him at the school.
