A second staff member at Buffalo Crossings Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center has tested positive for the Coronavirus.
That’s according to a report released Thursday by the Florida Department of Health that lists every long-term care facility in the state and details how many patients and/or staff members have tested positive at each one. Another employee had earlier tested positive at the facility, as did a patient who transferred out of the center.
The only other long-term care facility in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown to report cases of the virus is Serenades in The Villages, which earlier had three staff members test positive. A third Sumter County facility, Osprey Point Nursing Center, reported two patients suffering from the virus, including one who transferred out of the Bushnell-based center.
Four Lake County facilities with COVID-19 cases also have been identified in the daily reports. They are:
- AdventHealth Care Center Waterman in Tavares (one staff member);
- Lake Eustis Health and Rehabilitation Center (one employee);
- Superior Residences of Clermont (one employee); and
- The Cove at Tavares Village (one resident who transferred out of the facility).
Three Marion County facilities – all located in Ocala – have been included in the daily lists. They are:
- Brookdale Canopy Oaks (one employee);
- Pacifica Senior Living Ocala (one employee); and
- Palm Garden of Ocala (three residents and seven employees).
