To the Editor:

When Katie Belles was renovated, I asked the bartender of the newly renovated disaster of our beloved Katie Belle’s, “How much did it cost to totally destroy Katie Belle’s as well as our favorite Cattle Barron?” His reply was $4.5 million.
What a tragedy!
When I first moved here, the most precious sight was watching a couple in their 90’s dancing in mid-afternoon at Katie Belle’s. The place was always crowded, we loved going there for the shows as well as the great Sunday brunch. The Cattle Barron upstairs was our favorite for fine dining.
Then there was the little bar/restaurant at Santiago, gone also, but surely missed by all
We sent letters to John Rohan begging them not to take it down or at least rebuild another like it, nothing. All the beloved places we so enjoyed are gone. Not making enough money for the “family,” someone might be enjoying themselves too much and not drinking enough, just drinking water. As in the case of the waterfront, had full house nearly every night, people dancing having great time, some drink water, not spending enough money, can’t have that. Put a stop to that. What a disastrous dirty rotten shame!
