Longtime Amenity Authority Committee member announces he will not run again

A longtime Amenity Authority Committee member has announced he will not run again.

John Wilcox of Villa Berea represents Community Development District 3 on the AAC, which oversees amenities north of County Road 466.

His seat will be up for election on Nov. 3.

Villages District Property Management Construction Manager, Randy Wilkerson, shows floor plans to Rec Coordinator, Kurt Mancauscus, and AAC members Don Deakin, Ann Forrester and John Wilcox. Wilcox has announced he will not seek another term on the AAC.

Don Deakin, who represents Community Development District 4, has announced he will be a candidate for re-election on Nov. 3.

If you are interested in having your name placed on the ballot for the 2020 landowner elections to become the representative for CDD 3, you must complete the official statement of eligibility for the AAC and submit it to the District Clerk’s Office before June 19.

Wilcox’s decision not to run again is the latest sign that change is coming to the AAC. Carl Bell, who represents Community Development District 1, and Lowell Barker, who represents Lady Lake/Lake County, have announced they will not run again. Their seats will be up for grabs in 2021.
