Two employees at a Dunkin Donuts near UF Health The Villages Hospital were arrested after allegedly pocketing customers’ money rather than putting it into the cash register.
Irvin Alexander Day, 25, of Summerfield and Angela Marie Sasso, 25, of Belleview, were arrested Friday after a district manager for Dunkin Donuts investigated discrepancies between inventory and sales at the location at 1561 Bella Cruz Drive in The Villages, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Surveillance showed the pair had accepted customers’ money and provided them with food, but did not put the money in the cash drawer.
Day, who had been convicted of theft in 2013 in Marion County, was arrested on nine counts of theft and booked on $45,000 bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
Sasso, who is on probation after a 2018 arrest on drug charges, is facing two counts of theft. She was booked without bond at the jail.
