Central Florida League Week 2 softball results

Sammy Joe’s and Team Koller are tied for first place with perfect records after two weeks of action in the Central Florida League at Saddlebrook Softball Complex.

Softball’s R Game and Palm Ridge Dental are now 1-1, while Synergy Wealth and Paul Davis Restorations have yet to enter the win column.

Palm Ridge Dental defeated Synergy Wealth, 15-8. Palm Ridge took a 5-1 lead in the first inning and never looked back. Neil Maple was the winning pitcher and Tim Carroll took the loss.

Mike Gillen hit a home run for Palm Ridge Dental, while Chris Iorio tallied two doubles and Gillen and Steve McMahon hit one apiece. Rick Duemler and Jim White each scored two doubles Synergy Wealth.

McMahon got four hits for Palm Ridge Dental, with White also getting four hits for Synergy Wealth. Gillen, McMahon and Kyle Garland tallied 3 RBIs apiece, while Bob Kelly accomplished the same feat for Synergy Wealth.

Sammy Joe’s squeaked past Softball’s R Game by one run, 14-13. Softball’s R Game started off the first inning with a 5-2 lead and held the advantage until the final inning when Sammy Joe’s scored four runs to take win. Duane Miller was the winning pitcher, while Bob Baker took the loss.

Linn hit a home run for Sammy Joe’s, while Bill Reed and Mike Arnella each tallied triples. Davis Vest added three doubles, while Reed, Arnella and Linn got once apiece. Ken Atkinson, Alan Zahm and Baker each hit a double for Softball’s R Game.

Reed and Vest had three hits apiece for Sammy Joe’s, while Manny Sanchez and Atkinson accomplished the same feat for Softball’s R Game. Linn tallied six RBIs for Sammy Joe’s, while Herb Lauer brought in three runs for Softball’s R Game.

Team Koller easily defeated Paul Davis Restorations, 13-6. Team Koller trailed 6-5 after three innings but scored two in the fourth and two more in the final inning to easily seal the victory.

Jim Moyer was the winning pitcher and Neil Marple took the loss. Kevin Saunders hit a home run for Team Koller, while Howard Charney and Rocky Spottswood each added a double. Wayne Heiman and Greg Quattlebaum also hit a double apiece for Paul Davis Restorations.

Mike Rocchio and Dave Saxe each had three hits for Team Koller, while John Sanfillipo added one for Paul Davis Restorations. Saunders batted in four runs for Team Koller and Heiman tallied three RBIs for Paul Davis Restorations.
