The Hippodrome streaming the hilarious ‘Souvenir’

Don Simson

The Hippodrome in Gainesville is reviving live theater with virtual streaming and you don’t have to drive.

“Souvenir” is a hilarious play and will be done by live professional actors.

Having seen this play before, I can assure you of a first-class presentation.

Until things change this will be the best opportunity to see a top-shelf production.

Souvenir is a side-splitting celebration of the life of Florence Foster Jenkins, the real-life singer whose voice made her a legend — for her complete lack of pitch and rhythm.

Tickets to see Souvenir are only $20. Every ticket bought goes directly toward supporting the Hippodrome and the future of performing arts in Gainesville. This is our first time testing out this “new normal” for theater and we need your help now more than ever. Tell your out-of-town friends and family, anyone can watch this hilarious musical comedy from their couch.

Souvenir will be available to stream July 21-26. Tickets can be purchased online at thehipp.org.
