Leesburg commissioners OK plan for fire department to seek grant from Wal-Mart

Leesburg commissioners gave their blessing Monday night for the city’s fire department to seek funds from the Wal-Mart Community Grant Fund.

If awarded, the $5,000 grant would be used to purchase public education and fire department training equipment and supplies.

The grant doesn’t require the city to offer matching funds. If approved, the city would process a budget adjustment to add the money to the current budget.
