Three vehicles involved in crash near Southern Trace Plaza in The Villages

Three vehicles were involved in a crash Monday afternoon near Southern Trace Plaza in The Villages.

The crash occurred at 3 p.m.at the intersection of County Road 466 and Preston Drive, where a new signal light has been in flashing mode since becoming operational the previous week. The light is scheduled to become fully operational on Tuesday, Dec. 15. The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the collision, was not immediately certain whether the flashing signal played a role in the accident.

There were no serious injuries although one person indicated they would prefer to be medically evaluated at a hospital. All three of the drivers were female.
