Joan L. Corona

Joan L. (Kristie) Corona passed away peacefully at Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages, Florida, on March 13, 2021.

Joan was born in Illinois on June 3, 1939 to Joe and Sue (Pawlak) Kristie. She graduated from Mt. Assisi Academy in Lemont, Illinois in 1957. She went on to become owner/operator of The Style Inn hair salons, in Oak Park, later working as an administrative assistant for Zenith Electronics Corp., where she met and married Sonny Corona, the love of her life, in December 1989, eventually retiring from the College of DuPage, to The Villages Florida with Sonny in 2004. There, she touched the lives of many and spent her final years surrounded by a loving and supportive community.

Joan is survived by loving spouse, Sonny Corona; Brother, Jim Kristie (Kathy Geier); Children, Patrick Smith, Susan Smith, Jennifer Quinn, and William Teeple (Juana Barrera); Grandchildren, Ellie (Zach) Sidell, Mick (Jaclyn Capps) Quinn, Brian, Madison, and Allison Quinn, Gabriel Smith, Amelia and Camila Teeple; Great Grandchildren, Atlas Sidell, Carter Quinn; Niece and Nephews, Jerry (Carla) Shalon, Kathy (Jim) Burke, and Jim (Diane) Kristie; Step children, Mark, Renee, and Russell; Step grandchildren, Gina(Brian), Vince, Jaclyn (Mike), Gino, Tyler and Riley; Step great grandchild, Vincent; And many loving relatives of the Kryzystofiak and Pawlak families.

A Memorial service will be held in her honor at 10:00 a.m. on April 7, 2021 at St. Mark The Evangelist Church, The Villages, Florida.
