A Coleman man is free on $20,000 bond after allegedly videotaping a juvenile.
Rigoberto Velez, 34, is facing charges of video voyeurism and providing cannabis to someone under the age of 18. He was arrested last week by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies.
The investigation into Velez’s alleged activities began in April and involved a juvenile under the age of 16, according to the arrest report. Velez later submitted to a recorded interview at the sheriff’s office in Bushnell. A search warrant was executed at Velez’s home were a “small black camera” was found. In addition, a search warrant was obtained for Velez’s Gmail account.
Velez made a first appearance Friday in Sumter County Court and pleaded not guilty in the case.
