Dale Len Billings, 58, was riding a bicycle at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 at Grays Airport Road when a Fruitland Park police officer noticed Billings’ bicycle did not have a proper light.

The officer asked to search Billings, leading to the discovery of a bag containing methamphetamine in his sock.

Billings was arrested on a felony charge of drug possession and booked at the Lake County Jail on $2,000 bond.

Billings had been arrested last year in a burglary at a medical office in The Villages.
