
John Edward Boutwell
Born: June 29, 1948. Passed into God’s hands October 28, 2022.
Beloved husband of 50 years to Jean Ellen Boutwell (Smith). Father of Brian Silva-Boutwell of Westport, MA and his wife Stacy Silva-Boutwell. Brother of James Boutwell of Mississippi and the late Ralph Boutwell Jr. of Shirley, MA. Son of the late Ralph Boutwell Sr. and Theresa (Scadding) Boutwell. Grandparent of Lucas and Alaina Silva-Boutwell. Survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
John was a U.S. Navy veteran who served a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was an avid golfer and he loved model railroading. He spent many happy hours tinkering with his substantial collection of model trains, tracks and accessories. He most loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and he loved spoiling them. He was a proud member and Past Commander and Treasurer of the Lewis V. Dorsey American Legion Post 112 in Abington, MA. Born in Picayune, Mississippi, John spent the majority of his life in Massachusetts, residing in Abington, MA for over 40 years. John and his wife moved to The Villages, Florida two years ago to enjoy their retirement years. John excelled at his work as a non-profit Senior Accountant for many years, most recently at Advocates, Inc. in Framingham, MA.
A celebration of his life and memorial service will be held at the United Church of Christ in Abington, MA on Sunday, November 13 at 2:00 PM. A reception for family and friends will follow.
