Margaret Ann Skieczius passed away on Monday June 12, 2023. She was born on October 20, 1951 in Clinton, New Jersey. Her mother was in a women’s prison called Edna Mahan Detention center for women. She then went to Catholic Charities in Trenton, New Jersey. A wonderful couple adopted her that was looking for a little girl to raise. The couple was Jean and John McConlouge of Port Monmouth, New Jersey.

She grew up as an only child with her new family. She went to school in Port Monmouth New Jersey and then graduated from Middletown Township H.S. In 1969 Shortly after she applied to work for Bell Atlantic as a Directory Assistant Operator. She switched to Clerk after a few years. She was a member of the CWA union and then went to the IBEW union. She stayed in the phone company, then called Verizon Home for 30 years.

She joined a singles club with the local church and at one of the meetings met her future husband Will Skieczius. They met in May of 1970 and after 3 years dating got engaged. The following year they were married on May 18, 1974. Next year in 2024 would have been their 50 year anniversary for which they planning a big party.

They have three boys, Brian born in 1978 and he has two beautiful girls. Next was Eric, born in 1980 who had a boy and a girl. She always liked to be called Peggy. Her third boy was John, who liked to be called Jack. Brian married Danee and moved to Charlotte, N.C. Eric stayed in New Jersey, joined the Marines and served two tours in Iraq, then came home and became a CSI investigator in Ocean County, New Jersey. Jack moved with his parents to the Villages in 2007 and started his own computer based business.

Peggy loved cruising and we had a cruise planned for August this year which had to be canceled. She took many cruises on different lines.

When Peggy was 47 her Mother sat her done and told her that she was adopted. She was in shock, up to that point she always thought they were her biological parents. She found out she had siblings and the search began to find her siblings. Catholic Charities had records but was not allowed to give out that information. She eventually met all her siblings but unfortunately her real parents had passed.

Her husband had retired in 2007 from working in an amusement for 26 years and they decided to move to the Villages a move they would not regret. They were very active in many activities and made many friends.

Funeral is Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM with visitation at 10:00 AM, both at Beyers Funeral home at 134 US 441 in Lady Lake, Florida. She will be interred at the Florida National Cemetery at a later date.
