
Paul Frances Hannan, age 87, of Lady Lake, Florida passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023. He was born December 9, 1935 in Danbury, Ct to John James Hannan and Lucy Evelyn Salese Hannan.
Paul attended St. Peter School, and Danbury High School, in the Class of 1955. As a teen, Paul participated in many School activities, Basketball, Football, but swimming was his passion, as long as the park was open, he was there daily. At 15 years of age, Paul became a Lifeguard at the Danbury Town Park, under the supervision of Frank Repole and Ed Crotty. After High School, Paul enlisted in the Army, and spent most of his tour of duty on the East/West/Czech border in Germany.
Paul Married Francis Sullivan of Baldwin, NY in 1960 and had three children, Anne Marie Lourens of Hudson, MA., Jay Timothy of Worcester, Ma., and Kathleen of Melrose, Ma., Two Grandchildren, Kristen Lourens and Melissa Lourens. Paul is also survived by his loving 1st cousins, Nancy Pendergast Masi of Danbury, and Alma Pendergast, and many nieces and nephews.
Paul worked for several Hi-Tec companies in his 28 year career, Barden Corp, Perkin-Elmer, Hughes, Litton, Itek, Raytheon, RCA, and Digital Equipment Corp, as a project Planner. After that career, for the next 20 years he owned and operated two corporations, A Coffee and Sandwich Shop in Marlboro, Ma., and Real Estate Franchise in Waltham, Ma. In 1990 Paul relocated to Deltona Florida, and in 2002 moved to The Villages, Florida. Following his compassion as a what he a called a “Ultra Conservative”, he was elected as a Commission of the “Town of Lady Lake” in 2004 until his death.
Paul’s lifetime passion was Cars, he had dozens, Antique and Classic, and in his 80’s he still drove a Chevy Corvair. In the 1980’s he became a computer junkie, and was a webmaster for his Danbury High School Class of 1955, and his Car Club.
Paul loved to travel, in his working career, every vacation was throughout the USA, once he retired to Florida it was every March for 11 years visiting 6 Countries, mainly Italy’s 64 Towns with just a backpack, and seeking out Relatives.
Paul has chosen to be cremated, and his remains are to be place in St. Peter Cemetery, in the Hannan Plot with his Family. There will be no service.
