Ronald P. Ficarro, 78 of The Villages, passed away on Oct 25th 2023. Ronald was born in Rochester, New York to Dolores and Louis Ficarro on August 8, 1945.

He married the love of his life Madeleine on October 19, 1971. Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his loving Wife, Madeleine ( Mady) of 52 years.

His Sons, Ronald (Wife Haley) David Harrington/Ficarro, Daughter, Dawn Monti (Todd Blaschek) five Grandchildren, Martina Monti, Marisa Placious (Husband Stephen) Francesco Monti (Wife Gabrielle) Antonio Monti, Kayla Feeney (Husband Joseph) One Great Grandson, Santino Placious. Sister in law, Vivian Barton, Nieces, Nephews. Best friend Christel Sponsler.

Growing up his first love was cars. He started his drag racing career at the age of 16 racing Buicks and won hundreds of trophies. Ron was known locally as the top stock eliminator. His passion for cars led to his first career as a service manager and auto mechanic. This love affair included Corvettes. He purchased his first one in 1965 and throughout his life always had one in the garage. Modified of course, as his need for a little more speed was always present.

Watching the Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964 catapulted his life long love for music. With friends from school, they formed the band “Thee Rue” where he played the role as bassist. The band played together for decades at events for friends and family.

In 1975, Ron bought 24 acres of land & built his first home. This led to a home building career as Dayron Custom homes that lasted 35 years. He was a well respected home builder and an officer of the Rochester Home builder’s association. His award winning HOMARAMA houses are a testament to his work ethic, attention to detail and quality of people he worked with.

Ron and Mady moved to The Villages, Florida to enjoy retirement in 2018. He was a member of The Villages Corvette club. He loved listening to the bands at the squares play the same music his band played years prior. Most mornings he could be found having coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts with the gang, and was a great friend to many people.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 31 at 2 PM at the Havana Country Club 2484 Odell Circle The Villages FL 32162.
