President Trump has been working nonstop on behalf of the American people, taking action to fulfill promises he made.

On his first day in office, he signed an executive order establishing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to implement his agenda to modernize federal technology and software, while maximizing government efficiency and productivity. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who was approved by the U.S. Senate, granted the DOGE team access to the Treasury’s payment system in a read-only capacity to review the overall efficiency of the system. Activity from members of the DOGE team are monitored, and they do not have access to sensitive details, nor can they stop payments.

Secretary of State Rubio has assumed the role of acting director of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and has assigned a member of his staff to oversee the review of USAID’s activities and possible reorganization. I have long worked to reign in wasteful spending and welcome this review – it is critical to ensure that every taxpayer dollar is being used effectively and efficiently. I am confident that Secretary Rubio will work with the President and Congress as they conduct this review and any possible reorganization of USAID to make sure all operations align with our national interests and are a wise use of taxpayer dollars.

After President Trump threatened tariffs on certain goods, both Mexico and Canada have announced they are taking action to help secure our north and southwest border against the flow of fentanyl, cartels and terrorists! In response, President Trump is postponing the possible tariffs to allow for future negotiations and implementation. It’s great to have a President back in the White House who is actively working to secure our borders and cut government spending.
