Robert Paul Sellers, 78, of The Villages, FL passed away on February 20,2025 at the Advent Health – Waterman Hospital in Tavares, FL following a recent illness.
Robert was born in Berwyn, Illinois to Frederick and Dorothy Sellers on April 23, 1946. He graduated from the George Williams School of Social Work and also Western Illinois University. He worked as a clinical (forensic) social worker for the Center for Forensic Psychiatry in Milan, MI for several years until his retirement. Robert and Carol were married June 21, 1996, in Ann Arbor, MI Robert and Carol enjoyed traveling and RVing before settling in The Villages.
Robert and Carol enjoyed the bi-monthly meetings of the Hengan Hooligans, the neighbors on their street. He used to enjoy bocce and water aerobics. Carol’s daughter, her husband, and their son moved to Summerfield, FL and he especially loved having weekly lunches with his grandson who is now a senior at the University of Florida. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Dorothy Sellers, and his brothers William Sellers and Terrance Sellers. Robert is survived by his wife, Carol, and his brother, Thomas Sellers of The Villages.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 22, 2025, at the Hiers Baxley Funeral Home on Wedgewood Lane in the Villages, FL. A reception will follow the service.
