A company that uses robotics and “proprietary construction technology” to manufacture modern, cost-effective homes, has just purchased a multi-acre site near The Villages for over $15 million.
ONX-Lake Ella, LLC, purchased the property from ROIB SFR Lake Ella, LLC, on March 7 for $15,180,000, according to a deed filed with the Lake County Clerk of Courts.
The site is located just east of Green Key Village, a high-efficiency community that opened its doors just over a decade ago.
The deed shows that the property is actually comprised of over 130 parcels that represent Lake Ella Estates Phases 2 and 3.
The parcels that comprise the site are zoned residential and have been sitting vacant for an extended period of time. They are prepped for development and are technically located in the city of Lady Lake.

According to state corporate records, ONX-Lake Ella is registered to ONX Homes in the state of Delaware. ROIB SFR Lake Ella Holdings, LLC, is registered to RealOp Investments, a commercial real estate investment firm.
Onx Homes says it is able to build homes more quickly than the average homebuilder because of its proprietary “X⁺ CONSTRUCTION™” methodology.
“It takes 22 subcontractors 8 months to build the average home. A disjointed process. An Onx home is constructed as 1 system. A coordinated process with 30 days build time,” reads a statement from the company’s website.

In addition to Lake Ella, Onx has communities in at least 10 other cities across Florida.
According to Onx, homes at “On Lake Ella” will start in the high $300,000s and will feature between 3 and 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and anywhere from 2,442 to 2,638-square-feet of living space.

“Our homes feature steel-reinforced, monolithic X+ concrete elements: Foundation+, Walls+, Staircase+, and Bathroom+, as well as hurricane impact windows, luxurious porcelain tiling, quartz countertops, and energy-efficient appliances. This unique technology ensures low insurance and energy costs, providing you with a lifetime of value,” reads a statement from the company about the new On Lake Ella community.
Onx Homes was founded less than four years ago in 2021. Despite its age, the facility has already developed over 5,000 new homes across Florida and Texas, with “thousands more on the way,” according to its website.
