Last week I voted to pass the No Rogue Rulings Act, legislation that upholds our constitutional checks and balances by limiting the power of a single district judge from issuing sweeping nationwide injunctions.
Since President Trump took office, we have seen numerous occasions in which an individual district judge issued a nationwide injunction, preventing the president from implementing his American First agenda.
This legislation prohibits district courts from setting national policy from the bench unless multiple states from different judicial circuits are involved. In those rare cases, a balanced panel of three judges will determine the appropriate course, with direct appeal to the Supreme Court.
With the passage of this legislation, my House Republican colleagues and I are standing up to activist judges and preserving judicial integrity.
