The land has been cleared and graded and there is orange protective fencing around the large historic trees saved at the insistence of Lady Lake officials. The developer of the Walmart has been charged a $20,800 tree mitigation fee for the trees that have already been removed.

The main retail space will be 45,603 square feet with a 2,9832-square-foot pharmacy drive-through and a 1,618-square-foot fuel kiosk with a canopy. There will be 232 parking spaces.

The new Walmart will be the retail hub of the massive new Hammock Oaks development.
