A huge crowd turned out for the No Kings protest in The Villages.
The large group of demonstrators, many holding up homemade signs, were lined up Saturday morning to show their dissatisfaction with President Trump, who was also celebrating his 79th birthday.
The protesters gathered along Morse Boulevard near the entrance to Lake Sumter Landing.
The irrigation sprinklers along Morse Boulevard were mysteriously running mid-morning, which meant the passing cars were splashing water onto the demonstrators. Some believed it was a calculated move by The Villages to make them feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.
However, the many people who gathered brought a certain merriment to the event, which took on a festive-like atmosphere.
