A local Congressman told Fox News that President Trump has saved the world by striking Iran.
U.S. Rep. Randy Fine, elected earlier this year to represent parts of Lake and Marion counties, was effusive in his praise of Trump, whose decision over the weekend to send B-2 Stealth bombers to Iran shocked the world.
“I believe that God saved Donald Trump’s life so that he could save the world,” Fine said. “He eliminated Iran’s threat of having a nuclear weapon which is an extraordinary threat not only to Israel but the entire world. He frankly should have earned the Nobel Prize tonight.”
Fine, who pointed out he is one of four Jewish Republicans in Congress, said he was appalled that the United Nations had not condemned Iran’s development of nuclear weapons. He added that Trump had tried diplomacy, but the Iranians indicated they were going to continue enriching uranium.
Meanwhile, U.S. Rep. Daniel Webster, a Republican who represents The Villages, agreed that Trump was right to order the strike against Iran.
“President Trump’s decisive action to neutralize Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan puts an end to their nuclear ambitions and puts America first by protecting our troops, allies, and interests in the region,” Webster said.
