The Project Wide Advisory has rejected a plan to pay to alleviate a parking problem at Ednas’ on the Green.
There is a shortage of golf cart parking at the popular eating, drinking and dancing spot near the Cattail Recreation Center. Residents have been parking their golf carts on the grass, which has been taking a beating.

PWAC was presented with a proposal to spend $44,000 on a design and engineering study to create 60 golf cart parking spots by paving a surface between the existing lot and the final hole of the Lowlands Executive Golf Course. The proposed parking would be 100 feet by 80 feet.
The proposed parking project would be paid for with amenity money.
PWAC members quickly indicated they had no appetite for such a project, aimed at benefitting a private business.
“That’s more than $700 per golf cart,” said PWAC member Steve Bova, who represents Community Development District 10. “That’s just engineering.”
PWAC member Ed Coleman, who represents CDD 7, was skeptical that creating more parking would solve the problem and change residents’ behavior.
“Even if we did this, people are going to park wherever it’s easiest,” Coleman said.
