A Villager with a history of mental instability has been arrested after allegedly stalking a young woman working at Lake Sumter Landing.

Jason John Dacci, 53, of the Village of Sabal Chase, was taken into custody on Saturday after repeatedly showing up at a business at Lake Sumter Landing and making the young woman uncomfortable by paying too much attention to her, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Things had gotten so bad, that Dacci was banned from the business on Canal Street. The business was not identified out of privacy concerns for the woman.

Dacci had showed up at the business on many occasions, asking the woman out on dates and commenting on her looks.

“You look so good in that dress I would love to see you without it on,” he told her, according to the report.

The business owner had a conversation with Dacci and told him not to make comments toward his employee. The business owner became more concerned when he noticed that Dacci began parking his golf cart behind bushes near the business. Dacci was seen sitting in the golf cart until the woman left for the night.

The woman told deputies she had “experienced severe emotional distress,” because of Dacci’s behavior.

Dacci had previously been arrested in 2020 at Brownwood. His case was later dismissed. Villages-News.com was chastised by the National Alliance on Mental Illness for reporting on Dacci’s earlier arrest.

As a result of this past weekend’s arrest, Dacci was being held at the Sumter County Detention Center on $5,000 bond.
