The Project Wide Advisory Committee is set to consider a $142,452 bid to replenish the annual supply of pickleballs south of County Road 466 in The Villages.
PWAC members will meet at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at SeaBreeze Recreation Center.
As the popularity of pickleball has continued to soar, so has the yearly expense for pickleballs. In 2019, the annual cost for pickleballs crossed the $100,000 threshold in the PWAC recreational amenity areas south of County Road 466.
PWAC members will be asked to sign off on the monthly purchase and delivery of 563 dozen Vulcan Gen 2 VPRO flight outdoor pickleballs which would be 5,400 dozen pickleballs for the year. The selected vendor is City Pro Shop.
