A driver fled on foot and left behind an injured woman after crashing his Volvo in The Villages.
Thomas Leo Robison, 45, of Summerfield, was driving a gold Volvo S80 at about 3 p.m. Sunday when he was involved in a crash near the entrance to Rolling Acres Plaza, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

Witnesses found a woman in the Volvo, “bleeding profusely from her mouth and unable to speak.” They told police they had seen a man run from the vehicle, which had sustained a flat tire. The woman was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
Robison was spotted running through the parking lot of the CVS Pharmacy at U.S. Hwy. 441 and Avenida Central. He continued to run from law enforcement and was eventually found hiding in the bushes behind Tire Choice on the Historic Side of The Villages. When he was apprehended, Robison admitted he fled because he knew he was wanted on a Marion County warrant for overdue child support and because he did not have a valid license.
Robison, who was arrested in 2021 for allegedly choking a woman who denied his request for affection, is facing charges of failure to remain at the scene of a crash, resisting arrest and driving while license suspended. He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $22,000 bond.
