The Villages Evening Rotary Club is preparing another spooktacular Juke Box Bingo with Ric Mitchell on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at the Lake Miona Recreation Center.
A Villager ID is required, and tickets are $15 for two bingo cards. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. with fundraising from 6 to 8 p.m. Ticket holders are encouraged to wear a costume and bring snacks and drinks. Call Rich at 408-529-9161 or email your contact information to [email protected].
This year’s special feature is the Million Dollar Umbrella Raffle, where the lucky winner will receive an umbrella along with all the attached Scratch Off Lottery cards. Additionally, winners of the various bingo games will be rewarded with gift cards from popular restaurants in the area, ranging from $25 to over $50. During intermission, there will be a costume parade, and a best costume prize will be awarded.
Evening Rotarians are raising funds for projects that help local elementary school students, food insecurity and dental care for low-income veterans. Proceeds from this event will support those efforts.
“This has been a popular event for us and especially those who attend,” said Club President Kim Grassi. “Last year, we were able to provide $1000 of new library bound books to a school library and over $2000 to local food pantries.”
The first year’s proceeds supported dental care for “over 60 low-income veterans,” according to Rotarian Jim Bodenner.
