Upon arrival, the officers found both men interacting with the store’s security and loss prevention. Both men resisted being taken into custody.

Loss prevention and security explained how the pair came into the store, cut through aisles and headed straight to the electronics department. They quickly picked up multiple items before heading to another aisle to stage the merchandise. They then went into a different aisle to conceal the items into backpacks and a suitcase they grabbed from the store, the report said.

They were ultimately stopped by loss prevention and security after passing all points of sale. They took $3,495.73 in merchandise, including the two backpacks, two Xbox controllers, PS5 Pulse earbuds, a Western 1TB hard drive, nine PS5 controllers, a suitcase, a PlayStation Portal PS5, several Western TB Xbox hard drives and a SanDisk 2TB external hard drive, the report said.

Hazel was arrested on charges of grand theft (more than $750 less than $5,000) and resisting officer without violence. The native of Aruba was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $3,500.

Williams was arrested on similar charges. He was booked at the jail and released after posting $11,000 bond.
