To the Editor:
When I bought here, I was told this is a 55+ community, that no one under 55 is allowed to live here permanently. Well that is a bald-faced lie. You have senior retirees who have their drug addicted or alcoholic children/grandchildren living with them. Selling drugs, stealing, getting arrested for DUI to selling drugs and just causing havoc. And yet nothing is done about it. One case, but I’m sure it wasn’t just one case, was in the paper. And this druggie grandchild living with his grandma in Orange Blossom would abuse her and had the nerve to move in his druggie girl friend for his grandmother to support. There is also a house on Tracy that has squatters in it. This quiet senior living area known as The Villages is a joke. And why do we have schools in a retirees area? Don’t give me the excuse, “it’s for people who work in The Villages.” So because they work here, their kids get to go to charter schools that are built and paid for by The Villages. Another dumb idea brought about by the owners of The Villages. I mean everyday somebody who lives with their retired parents or grandparents is getting arrested for drugs, DUI, etc. When is it enough? Whether you like it or not, these are facts. Don’t get me started on the fake advertisement of a gated community. Because it’s not a true gated community.
