The American economy is very uneven right. While the stock market is booming and many are enjoying the benefits, there are many other Americans struggling with higher prices, particularly at the grocery store.
For many years, the Wildwood Soup Kitchen has served the poor, the hungry, and the lonely by providing healthy, nutritious and appetizing meals to all who request it. The soup kitchen serves about 200 to 300 meals per day. In addition meals are delivered to those who cannot make their way to the soup kitchen at 203 Barwick St. at the First Presbyterian Church at Wildwood.
The Wildwood Soup Kitchen is staffed by caring and loving volunteers inspired by the Gospel mandate to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, and welcome the stranger.
Many in our area are facing an even more dire future due to the looming cutoff of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits due to the government shutdown.
The Wildwood Soup Kitchen receives no government money and relies on the generosity of its donors.
