U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a hold on a Bushnell woman who was stopped without a driver’s license.
A deputy stopped 43-year-old Selma Yadira Padilla in a red pickup truck with no working tag lights at Suncoast Credit Union, located at 217 W Belt Ave., Bushnell, around 10:55 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Padilla advised that she had a driver’s license but left it at home. She also believed her husband may have taken her paperwork, the report said.
However, a check of law enforcement databases did not yield any driver’s license information for her. Her family was also unable to send any information to confirm she had a license of any kind, the report said.
As such, Padilla was arrested on charge of operate motor vehicle without valid license. She was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where bond was set at $150 and ICE put a hold on her. The arrest report did not indicate Padilla’s country of origin.
