An Ohio man has been charged with sending a nude video of himself to a teenage girl.
Javier Leon Botello, 28, of New Carlisle, Ohio, was arrested Thursday on a warrant charging him with distribution of obscene materials.
The investigation began in October when the Orange County Sheriff’s Office began looking into a sexual abuse claim. Investigators there learned that a “consensual sexual encounter” had taken place within Wildwood’s jurisdiction.
The girl’s phone was obtained and text messages between Botello and the girl described “meeting up” and “having a romantic relationship,” according to an affidavit of probable cause from the Wildwood Police Department. The affidavit indicated that Botello was “well aware” of the girl’s age. He was 27 at the time.
A search of the girl’s phone also turned up a video in which Botello is “in the shower, completely nude, masturbating his erect penis.”
Following his arrest, Botello was being held without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center. Jail records indicate he is to be turned over the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
