Through its new online portal, the Architectural Review Committee (ARC) has received 2,500 applications since Dec. 1.

“That has been a very successful launch,” said Matthew Armstrong, The Villages community standards director.

He told several community development district boards Friday that the online portal makes it easier to file applications for architectural review and to keep in touch with the ARC about an application’s status.

Architectural review and ARC approval is required for many changes to properties in The Villages.

To begin the online process, Armstrong said users need to visit the ARC Landing Page and click on “Architectural Review Application.” They also can click on another link to report a deed restriction violation.

The portal can be found at https://villagecenterflgovbuilt.com/AdvancedForms. Users can log in or register as a new user.

Users then need to create an account with their name, email, property address and property type. They also must describe the requested change such as a lanai enclosure. There also is a space for contractor information.

By email, applicants will be notified that their request was received and details about the hearing date. Finally, they will be notified of the ARC decision on the application.

A user’s profile includes the history of applications, deed restrictions and other information.

Armstrong said the history includes records since Dec. 1, although earlier records are available offline.
