An man was arrested for driving without a license after almost rear-ending a trooper on Interstate 75.

Mario Oro Martinez, 20, almost rear-ended a trooper on I-75 near mile marker 335 in Oxford around 3:40 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Florida Highway Patrol. He was following too closely in a gray Toyota as the trooper slowed down to enter a turn lane.

After stopping Oro Martinez, the trooper asked for his license. He did not have one, although he did provide a U.S. passport as identification instead. A record check then confirmed he did not have a valid license in any state or county, the report said.

Oro Martinez was arrested on charge of operating  a motor vehicle without valid license. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $150 bond.
