An employee of The Villages Health is seeking more than $50,000 in damages from The Villages following a slip-and-fall incident that allegedly occurred in a parking lot last summer.

Jameka Brown, a resident of Lake County, filed the lawsuit against The Holding Company of The Villages, Inc., in Lake County Circuit Court on Feb. 5.

A Villages Health employee has sued The Villages over an alleged slip-and-fall that occurred at a parking lot in Spanish Springs.

According to the complaint, Brown alleges that on July 17, 2025, she was walking at the outside front entrance of The Villages Health Shared Services Department at 1149 Main St. in Lady Lake.

Brown claims she was traversing the parking lot and walkway when a liquid substance on the ground “caused [her] to fall.”

The complaint alleges that The Villages negligently maintained the premises by permitting the walkways to “retain water and other liquid substances” and by failing to place warning signs for patrons.

Brown’s attorney argues that the company had actual or constructive notice of the dangerous condition but failed to provide a safe area for employees and guests to walk.

As a result of the fall, Brown claims she suffered bodily injury, physical impairment, and a loss of capacity to enjoy life. She is seeking a jury trial to determine the full extent of damages.
