John Drummond, Age 92, passed away on March 17, 2026, in The Villages, FL.
John was born in Wilmington, Delaware to Enos and Anna Drummond on August 29,1933. Soon after graduating high school, he and his best friend left Delaware for a year to travel the country. He talked in detail about that experience where they would stay in a place long enough to work and collect a few paychecks and then on to the next state.

John loved being a “girl dad!” John worked in finance as a data processing program manager, writing computer programs for payroll and financial reports. He took great pride in his work and approached it with a genuine passion. He achieved his goal of retiring at age 60. He and Shirley moved to the Villages 30 years ago and enjoyed their retirement to the fullest.
He was an avid tennis, pickleball and basketball player. He loved his Philadelphia sports teams and was a diehard Phillies, 76ers and Eagles fan. John volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in building houses. He and Shirley did several Caribbean cruises and vacations to Alaska and Hawaii. They traveled often to Nevada and California to visit his 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his wife and youngest daughter Sherry. He is survived by his two daughters, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a son-in-law and sister-in-law.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date at Hiers-Baxley Life Event Center 3975 Wedgewood Lane in The Villages.
