A Lady Lake woman was arrested for battery after allegedly headbutting her partner when confronted about infidelity.
An officer responded to a 911 call from 33-year-old Francisca Raquel Brumell, saying she had been hit in the head at her home in Lady Lake around 9:10 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. Upon arrival at the residence, dispatch advised that she was now claiming she had hit her head on something.

Her partner of 15 years and the father of her two daughters opened the door for law enforcement and escorted police to Brumell. She was sitting on the toilet and bleeding from the top of her head, but she stated she did not know what happened. She added that her partner was upstairs, and she was downstairs when she hurt herself, the report said.
Once the officer determined the scene was safe for EMS and fire personnel, they entered the home to assess the small laceration on the top of Brumell’s head. They did their work as the officer asked Brumell’s partner to speak with him, the report said.
As soon as they stepped out, he explained that the couple was standing in the living room when he confronted Brumell about her talking to or seeing another man. She responded by headbutting him on the mouth, causing the laceration to her head and his front right tooth to be pushed back. He showed the officer his injury to confirm his statement, the report said.
The officer then went back inside to speak with Brumell, who had been cleared by EMS. She advised that her partner had grabbed her by the arms and shaken her, causing her head to go forward and hit his mouth. She had no other markings or injuries on her besides the top of her head, the report said.
Brumell was subsequently arrested on charge of simple battery (domestic) and booked at the Lake County Jail. The native of Brazil is currently being held on a $1,000 bond.
