A Coleman man was arrested on a warrant Tuesday for 25 videos and images of child sexual abuse material found on his Apple iPhone.

On Nov. 21, 2025, a detective got a call from Parole and Probation regarding an Apple iPhone and an Apple Watch they had collected from 39-year-old Philip Josiah Conde on Nov. 13, 2025, according to a warrant affidavit from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. While going through the iPhone, they noticed a video that appeared to be of a child engaged in sexual activity.

Parole and Probation explained that on Nov. 13, 2025, Conde arrived to register due to being on probation. Part of his probation meant he was not allowed access to the internet or social media. He was also required to register all cellular phones in his possession. Additionally, Parole and Probation were allowed to search all devices belonging to Conde without a warrant, the affidavit said.

When he showed up, he was wearing the Apple Watch on his arm. He was asked to hand it over for examination, during which they learned it was connected to an Apple iPhone. The affidavit noted that the phone Conde registered with Parole and Probation was an Android.

He was asked to give them the iPhone, and he retrieved it from his vehicle to do so. Parole and Probation proceeded to go through his phone and learned that it had access to the internet and social media, violating his conditions. He was subsequently taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center, though he was released five days later, the affidavit said.

The watch and phone were collected as evidence and continued to be searched through. In the photo section was a “Hidden” folder with password protection. Conde had already given them the password to the phone, so when they used it to get into the folder, they discovered a video of what they believed to be a child engaged in sexual activity, the affidavit said.

Once this was reported on Nov. 21, 2025, the detective began listening to jail calls made by Conde. In one call to his mother, he mentioned an Apple iPad that was also connected to the same account as his watch and phone. That day, detectives met with Conde’s father to retrieve the iPad and Conde’s Android phone, the affidavit said.

On Nov. 25, 2025, a lawful search warrant was obtained for the Apple devices. A digital extraction of the iPhone yielded 25 images and videos of child sexual abuse material, the affidavit said.

Conde was ultimately arrested on Tuesday afternoon for 25 counts of possession of obscene material (sexual performance by a child). He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center without bond.

His criminal history included a prior arrest in June 2024 for repeatedly meeting with a teen boy for sex.
