To the Editor:

I find it deeply disappointing that some Democrats appear more focused on opposing Donald Trump than supporting policies that help America’s seniors. If a proposal provides tax relief, improves Social Security services, or helps older citizens keep more of what they earned over a lifetime, it should be judged on its merits—not rejected simply because of who supports it.

Too many seniors are living on fixed incomes while dealing with rising costs for housing, groceries, insurance, and healthcare. They deserve leaders who put practical solutions ahead of partisan resentment. When politicians protest benefits for seniors just because they dislike President Trump, they are putting politics before people.

Americans are tired of endless political hostility. We need both parties to work together when something good is on the table, especially for retirees who spent decades building this country.

Seniors should never become collateral damage in political warfare.
