A nasty parking dispute in The Villages wound up before a special magistrate.

Helize Vivier, who lives at 796 Elliott Avenue in the Jackson Villas in the Village of Pine Ridge, explained her frustration when she appeared this week before the magistrate in a deed compliance hearing at the District Office in Brownwood.

A complaint was received March 30 about a commercial vehicle parked in her driveway. The person who made the complaint provided photos of the violation to Community Standards. The property was brought into compliance in April, but the same neighbor made another complaint one week later.

The vehicle in question is a large, four-door truck. A photo submitted by the complainant showed a decal that said, “Triton Commercial Diving.” The name of the business was not mentioned in the hearing.

Vivier told the magistrate that she has gone to great pains to remove the decal when her vehicle is at home in her driveway. She replaces the decal on the truck when she is not at home. She reasoned that it’s not a commercial vehicle if it does not have the logo with the business name when the decal is temporarily removed. She told the judge it’s been a hassle, removing and replacing the decal. But she said she is willing to do whatever it takes to remain in compliance.

She also indicated that the complainant was in the hearing room. The complainant was not identified for the record. Vivier described the complainant as “a neighbor two doors down.”

Vivier now has a “re-occurring violation.” Another occurrence could cost her as much as $500 per day.
